Understanding the importance of family involvement, United Way of Greater Battle Creek’s goal is that all Battle Creek youth will develop the character, knowledge and personal/social skills necessary for educational success from pre-kindergarten through high school graduation years and be prepared to successfully meet 21st century challenges.

 

 

School Readiness: All young children prepared and eager to succeed in school

     
Indicator: Percentage of children demonstrating appropriate kindergarten level entrance skills.
Indicator: Percentage of children demonstrating appropriate kindergarten level social skills.
     
       

School Success: School success for all children by 3rd grade

     
Indicator: Academic Achievement - Percentage of children performing at grade level as evidenced by grades, independent measurement, MEAP/testing etc.
Indicator: Social Achievement - Percentage of children evidencing appropriate age/grade level social skills.
     
       

Support for Adolescent Development: Focus on middle school age yourth 5th - 8th grade

     
Indicator: Percentage of positive change in levels of adolescent behaviors
     
       

Mentoring for Families & Children: All ages from early childhood - 12th grade

     
Indicator: Percentage of families with increased engagement in parenting skills and involvement in child's life, school expectations forchild and social expectations fromchildhood - adulthood.
Indicator: Percentage of children with increased engagement in schools expectations, social expectations (childhood - adult) and involvement in family life.
