Income

United Way of Greater Battle Creek (UWGBC) is working to advance the common good by focusing on the building blocks for a good life – a quality EDUCATION that leads to a stable job, enough INCOME to support a family through retirement, and good HEALTH.
United Way will address these issues while continuing to provide a safety net for our community’s basic needs.

Our goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of problems.

Below are general descriptors of the types of focus areas that could be impacted through the Income pillar:

Financial Stability

Increasing self-sufficiency among working families

Maximizing Income

Increasing Savings

Specific focus areas will be developed by the income vision council, a group of community volunteers, in 2010/2011.

While programs have not applied to or been approved for funding under this pillar, we anticipate that the following are types of programs that could fall under the Income Pillar in the year 2012:

CHARITABLE UNION
Clothing for Families in Need

DISABILITY NETWORK SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN
Independent Living/Life Management
